LADY J HUSTON - A Native of St. Louis, MO, Lady J is a multi-award-winning vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter, recording artist and entertainer. Performing Soul, Jazz, R & B, Blues and Gospel, with an impressive vocal range from Tenor to 1st Soprano.
In High School she was Valedictorian and voted Most Talented Female.
LADY J recieved scholarships to the University of Kansas and Howard University where she majored in Music Theory / Composition, earning a B.S.B.A. Degree from the University of Redlands. (CA)
Touted as a child prodigy dancer, she performed on shows with her mother/promoter, Loyce P. Huston, who was a song stylist who launched the careers of many local entertainers.
In her teens, LADY J's first taste of fame was as a singer with (Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame), Johnnie Johnson, (Father of Rock'N Roll piano). Later she toured with Albert King as a Trumpeter, Vocalist and Music Director. They appeared on PBS "MAINTENANCE SHOP BLUES" a Dick Clark special.
She shared the stage with greats like B.B. KING, MILLIE JACKSON, JOHN LEE HOOKER, MUDDY WATERS, ALBERT COLLINS, ETTA JAMES, ROBERT CRAY, BUDDY GUY and others.
While residing 25 years in Las Vegas, she won multiple LV BLACK MUSIC AWARDS and from 2009 - 2013 LADY J HUSTON reigned as the LAS VEGAS QUEEN OF BLUES including being inducted into the LV HCE HALL OF FAME.
She returned to St. Louis and in 2018 debuted the "LADY J HUSTON SHOW", an Electrifying Blend lf Las Vegas Pizzazz with the Sass of St.Louis Blues, Classic Soul and Jazz.
LADY J HUSTON released her debut album GROOVE ME BABY to rave reviews https://www.ladyjhuston.com/album-reviews. and recieved GRAMMY ballot consideration for BEST NEW ARTIST, TRADITIONAL BLUES ALBUM. She won the 2023 BLUES BLAST MAGAZINE MUSIC AWARD for "NEW ARTIST DEBUT ALBUM"
